What is the Battle Matchup tool for?
Battle Matchup suggests the infantry/cavalry/archer split that beats the formation you expect an enemy to use. For every matchup it fights each split in 5% steps until one side is wiped out, then suggests the one that wins while losing the fewest troops, with an attack plan and a defense plan side by side.
Basic is the quick check: both armies are identical — the troop tier you pick, same size, no stat bonuses — so the result is the pure formation counter, and nothing is saved. Advanced puts real numbers in the fight: all 12 troop stat bonuses, army size and tier for you and the enemy, as shown on a battle report. It saves your stats and every enemy you name, dated by when you scouted them, so you only enter them once.
